On the trailThere is no road in. You cross on a footbridge that climbs the whole way, with the valley dropping off on both sides, and by the time you reach the gate the village is above you and the mainland is behind.
The bridge is a steady climb in the open with no vehicles on it; the shuttle from the Belvedere only takes you as far as the near end.
