Nepi

The gorge below Nepi is cut into tufa and full of water, and there is no dry path through it. You go up the stream itself, starting at the Cascata del Pizzo.

How the day goes

  1. Meet at the falls, then straight into the water, because that is the route.
  2. Through the gorge between tufa walls, past small falls and pools.
  3. Out at the far end; it runs at weekends through the summer.

Your feet are in moving water the whole way and the rock underfoot is slippery, so it is a walk, but not a walk on a path.
