Castel Gandolfo On the trail

Two-day trek between the lakes sleeping in tents hung from trees

Castel Gandolfo

You sleep hung in the trees. The walk between the two lakes is the daytime half; the night is spent in tents suspended off the ground in a wood above the water.

How the day goes

  1. Walk from Castel Gandolfo to Nemi between the two craters.
  2. Brunch at a farm bistrot, then an aperitivo floating out on the lake.
  3. The night in a suspended tent, with the wood underneath you.
  4. Next morning a forest bath in the farm's wood, then on to Genzano.

You are away overnight and bedding is not part of it, so pack the way you would for a night spent outdoors.
