Montalto Di Castro On the trail

Vulci archaeological park with a licensed guide

Montalto di Castro

Vulci was a city and then it was a field. The paved roads are still there, and the temple, and a domus you go down into out of the sun, and the river port under the bridge.

How the day goes

  1. Walk the ancient streets, from the necropolises to the temple and the river.
  2. Down into the underground rooms of the domus, where the air changes.
  3. Finish in the castle of the Badia, with what came out of the ground around you.

Paths are beaten earth and only partly manageable on wheels, so check ahead if you are bringing a chair or a pushchair.
