Family rafting on the Nera, for people who cannot swim

Arrone

Away from the falls the Nera runs quietly through its own river park, between Ferentillo and Arrone. This is the descent for people who want the river without the rapids.

How the day goes

  1. Meet at Arrone, which is a different base from the one under the falls.
  2. Kit on, into the boat, guide steering from the back.
  3. Down through the river park, wooded valley on both sides.

Nothing on this one is fast, which is the whole idea; anyone who came for the rapids has to go down to the base under the falls.

Power rafting on the Aniene
