Tandem paragliding over the Rieti valley with a fifty-year-old school

Poggio Bustone

A school that has been flying this valley since long before anybody thought of selling the seat. Off the slope above Poggio Bustone, with the Rieti plain waiting underneath.

How the day goes

  1. Harness and briefing at the take-off, with the pilot behind you.
  2. The run down the slope, and then nothing under your feet.
  3. Out over the Rieti valley, the Apennine ridges closing it in.

From autumn to spring they fly the Lazio slope; in summer the school moves to Castelluccio in Umbria, so where you fly depends on when you come.
