Segni

Segni is ringed by walls the Romans already found ancient: blocks the size of a car fitted without mortar, and a gate roofed by a single slab. What came out of the ground inside them is kept in the old town hall.

How the day goes

  1. Start in the Palazzo della Comunita, among the finds from ancient Signia.
  2. Ask for the themed visit and the museum continues outside, along the circuit of polygonal walls.
  3. Stop at the Porta Saracena, where a single monolith spans the whole opening.
  4. Back down to the plain in the afternoon, or stay to eat up in the old town.

The walls are the reason to come, so keep it for clear weather: on a wet day the rooms alone make a short visit.
