An old Borghese granary in Artena, filled with the instruments of Italian folk music, and the people who keep them playable are the ones who show you round.

How the day goes

  1. Up to the Granaio Borghese, on the northern edge of the Lepini.
  2. Somebody from the association walks you through the collection in person.
  3. They teach these instruments too, so what you hear comes from playing them, not from a label.
  4. There is no ticket: you leave what you think it was worth.

The visit is in Italian, and weekdays are by appointment only: the weekend openings are the ones you can walk into.
