On the trailWhat survived the bombing went down the mountain in crates before the abbey fell. Much of it is back up here now — illuminated pages, ivories, carved fragments of a basilica that no longer exists.
This is the museum rather than the older rooms of the monastery, which are seen on the booked guided visit.
