Cori On the trail

Monte Lupone through the beech woods

Cori

The beech forest on Lupone is the kind you walk into and lose the sky in: grey trunks, deep shade, leaf litter underfoot, until the ridge opens and the whole range turns up at once.

How the day goes

  1. Climb steadily under the beeches, out of the heat.
  2. Break out onto the crest for the plain, the Circeo and the islands.
  3. The summit, then the long descent back through the wood.

The starting point is agreed with the guide when you book, so it is a walk to arrange in advance rather than turn up for.
