Before you go. The Museo dell’Opera del Duomo is closed for refurbishment; part of its collection has moved to the Museo Claudio Faina. The underground tour itself runs as usual.
The cathedral is the reason to come, but the town on its tufa cliff deserves the rest of the day rather than a dash back to the car.
