Corchiano On the trail

The gorges of Corchiano: waterfalls, springs and Faliscan vie cave

Corchiano

The gorges run below Corchiano like a cut in the ground, and the Faliscans went one better: they carved roads straight down into the rock, walls closing over your head, to get in and out of their own town.

How the day goes

  1. Down into the gorge, water on one side and tufa walls on the other.
  2. Along the vie cave, then past the springs and the waterfalls under the town.
  3. The rock shelters, used long before any of this was cut.
  4. Back up for a tasting or a meal, if you want one added.
