Giove With your hands

Five tasting menus in an Amerino cellar, from five euros up

Giove

A family cellar on the Amerino hills where the tasting can be a quick stop at the counter or a long sit-down through older vintages of the same label.

How the day goes

  1. Walk the vineyards and the cellar with the people who work them.
  2. The wines come with Umbrian salumi, pecorini of different ages, honey and preserves.
  3. Bruschetta with Rajo oil, and the Fava Cottora pate that Slow Food looks after.
  4. Ask for English or French when you book and they run the tour in it.

The fuller tastings need a small group behind them: travelling as a pair, say so on the phone and take the short one.
