Birra del Borgo brews out on the Piana di Spedino, a flat upland ringed by the Cicolano mountains and a long way from anywhere. The tours go onto the production floor, and the tap room is on site.

How the day goes

  1. A Brew Tour through the plant, arranged with the brewery in advance.
  2. The tap room after, where what you have just watched being made gets poured.
  3. On Oyster Day the whole floor opens up, with guided tastings and a menu built round them.

It sits well off the Rome road, up towards Rieti and the Abruzzo border, so it makes the day rather than a stop inside one.
