Veroli On the trail

Veroli's 1700s library: 42 incunabula and the original walnut shelving

Veroli

A library nobody ever modernised. The walnut shelving is the one it was built with, the books are still standing on it, and Veroli lets you in to look.

How the day goes

  1. Illuminated parchment manuscripts and incunabula sit alongside the working collection.
  2. Drawings by Carlo Maratta are among the prints kept here.
  3. A small antiquarian room holds ex-votos, Roman coins, bronzes and lamps found in the town.
  4. The Pro Loco of Veroli is the way in, and the same trip takes in their other museums.

Neither hours nor a ticket are published, so the visit starts with a phone call rather than a walk-up.
