Rieti

The mountains round Rieti are cut by gorges nobody sees from the road, because the only way into them is down. Wetsuit, helmet, harness and rope come from the operator.

How the day goes

  1. Kit up at the meeting point, then walk in to the head of the gorge.
  2. Down inside it: abseiling where the water drops, swimming where it pools.
  3. Out at the bottom, on a route picked to match what the group can do.

Power rafting on the Aniene
