Norma stands on the edge of the Lepini escarpment with nothing in front of it for forty kilometres, which is exactly the shape a paraglider needs: a launch with height, a plain to land on and a reliable afternoon thermal off the rock face.
Almost everything bookable here gets you into the air, tandem, with somebody strapped in behind you. What is left is the walking — the ruined Roman city of Norba on the clifftop above the town, and the paths down through the holm oaks.
