The water surfaces in the Maremma hills and fills a set of pools laid out in the spa's own park, with sulphur in the air and the countryside going on in every direction beyond the hedges.

How the day goes

  1. Swimsuit on, and the dress code inside is white — worth knowing before you pack.
  2. Move between the pools and the whirlpool jets, then walk the vascular path.
  3. Sauna, then the argillarium, then back outside into the water.
  4. Stay until the light drops, when the steam comes off the surface in sheets.
