Monte Argentario On two wheels

E-bike tour to Punta Telegrafo, the top of Monte Argentario

Monte Argentario

Punta Telegrafo is the top of Argentario, and from it the sandbars, the lagoon and the islands off the coast all come in with one turn of the head. The assisted bike is what makes going up there a good idea.

How the day goes

  1. Start in Orbetello and cross to the mountain with the guide.
  2. Climb past the old fort, the road turning to dirt as it goes.
  3. Stand at the top with the islands out to sea, then let the bike run down.

It is the biggest climb they offer: ask about the battery range before you commit to the summit.
