A cyclist riding a bike along a country road On two wheels

Five mountain-bike rings bookable all year, from eight riders up

Montecchio

The association keeps a set of fixed mountain-bike rings and rides them all year: the Val d'Orcia, the Monti Amerini, the lake country. Each one is a full day of climbing and descending, not a loop round a car park.

How the day goes

  1. Pick the ring you want and let them tell you what the climbing really feels like.
  2. Out early with the group, up through the woods on dirt and white road.
  3. Down the long descent, then the last stretch back to where you left the car.

These rings are for legs that already climb, and they go out with a group: ask whether bikes come with the ride.
