Windsurfing is mostly falling in and climbing back on, and this stretch of the Aurelia is where Rome learned to do it. Sessions get set by the wind, so the lesson happens when there is something to sail in.

How the day goes

  1. Rig on the sand and learn to pull the sail up before you sail anywhere.
  2. Out on flat water first: up on the board, down again, up again.
  3. Back to the club to hose the salt off when the breeze drops.

At the start you are in the water more than on the board, and you need to be comfortable there — a lake paddle asks far less of you.
