How the day goes

  1. Meet on the sand, wetsuit on, the dry drill before you go near the water.
  2. Into the white water on your belly, then the first attempts at standing.
  3. Out of the sea when your arms have gone, which is sooner than you expect.

The sea sets the timetable, and you should be at ease in breaking water — the paddling takes more out of you than the standing does.
