A wakeboarder pulled by an overhead cable across a lake, no boat in sight On the water

Ride a cable wakeboard park

San Cesareo

No boat, no driver: a cable overhead picks you up off the water and pulls you across, lap after lap, until you stop falling in. It is the quickest way to find out whether you can ride a board.

How the day goes

  1. Sign in, pick up a board at the park, then out to the start of the cable.
  2. The first pulls end in the water, which is how everyone here learned it.
  3. Then a lap standing up, and after that you only want to go round again.
  4. There are evening sessions too, which in high summer is when to come.

You will be in the water as much as on it, and you need to swim — for water that asks nothing of you, the thermal pools at Bagni di Tivoli are the other end of the scale.
