Sailing Lessons on Lake Bolsena

Capodimonte

A lake is a forgiving place to learn to sail: no tide, no swell, and the shore in sight the whole time. The club sits on the Capodimonte promontory with the whole of Bolsena in front of it.

How the day goes

  1. Rigging on the slipway, and the theory that goes with it.
  2. Out in a small boat, learning to read the wind off the surface of the water.
  3. Back in to derig, wash down and stow the boat before the evening.

Courses run in weekly and weekend blocks rather than single sessions, so this fits a stay on the lake better than one day out of Rome.
