The rooms under San Domenico are the reason most people drive up: a Romanesque church, a Roman cistern, and beyond them a cell whose walls are covered in the graffiti of a prisoner of the Inquisition. It is one of the few things around Rome that can only be seen with the people who dug it out, and they run the visits themselves.
Above ground the town has the bridge of Augustus standing in the river as a single arch, a Roman aqueduct that still carries water into town, and a cathedral at the top. The other bookable thing here is a rope course strung inside a medieval cistern under the main square, which is exactly as strange as it sounds.
