Our crawler

We are a small travel site near Rome. A few times a week we read a page on your website to check one thing: that what we tell a visitor about you is still true.

How to recognise us

We send this, and only this. We never pretend to be a browser, and we never borrow another crawler's name.

visitmoreBot/1.0 (+https://visitmore.it/bot)

What we take

Facts, and the address they came from: opening hours, closing days, prices, the phone number you publish, whether a thing runs in winter. We store the date we read it, so a visitor knows how old our copy is.

What we never take: your text, your photographs, your descriptions. Nothing we publish is a copy of what you wrote. Every card we build says who the operator is and links to your own page — that is the entire point of the site: it sends people to you.

How we behave

We read your robots.txt before we fetch anything, and we log that check. We wait between requests, we take a handful of pages and not your whole site, and we do not fill in forms, log in, or go anywhere a visitor could not go.

How to make us stop

Two lines in your robots.txt, and we are gone from your next fetch onward:

User-agent: visitmoreBot
Disallow: /

That is the whole opt-out, and it works from our next fetch: no form, no account, nothing to wait for.

But a correction serves you better than a block. If something we published about you is wrong — an opening time, a closing day, a price that has moved — write to [email protected] and we will change it. A wrong opening time on our page costs you a visitor who turns up to a closed door, and costs us the only thing we sell, which is being right.

Links marked affiliate pay us a commission — you pay the operator's own price and we never take your money. How we rank
